Asphodeline lutea

Jacob's Rod / Yellow Asphodel

Grass-like mounds of slender, grey-green foliage send up numerous tall, stiff spikes of fragrant, bright yellow starry flowers up to 1m high from June - September.

The pretty yellow flowers are then followed by shiny globular green seeds.

A meditteranean native, Asphodelines are built to withstand Summer droughts and will positively thrive in the very driest parts of your garden.

Statuesque, scented and evergreen. A beautiful border perennial.

Fully hardy once established but, protect young plants if planting out in Autumn.

Prefers a sunny and well-drained site. Dig in a good helping of grit when planting if worried about drainage.
