Thymus serpyllum Coccineus

Red-Flowered Thyme

Startlingly pretty, brightest magenta-pink flowers smother this mat-forming perennial herb in Mid-Summer. As with all Thymes, it has spicily aromatic, evergreen leaves which go perfectly with pasta dishes. Useful on walls, banks, rockeries, containers and this slightly creeping variety is beautiful between paving, where light traffic will release its perfume as its trodden on. Mix different Thymes together to create a tapestry of different colours and textures throughout the year. Loved by butterflies. Requires sun and good drainage. Clip back lightly after flowering. RHS AGM Royal Horticultural Society - Award of Garden Merit.
