Red Campion

Silene dioica

A gorgeous woodland and meadow native, this plant looks fantastic naturalised under trees with Bluebells or Lily-of-the-Valley and equally at home in a wildflower meadow amongst Ox-eye daisies and Meadow Cranesbill.

The deep pink flowers with a reddish brown calyx behind are arranged in loose clusters and provide a real burst of colour and energy to a wild part of the garden.

Flowers April right through to September and even longer in mild winters. Spreads easily and happy in a wide range of habitats.
