Tansy

Tanacetum vulgare

Clump-forming robust perennial with soft dark green, fern-like foliage that is sweetly aromatic when bruised.

Clusters of flowers like golden buttons from June - September.

The leaves contain an insecticide and an infusion of them kills greenfly.

Flowers give a yellow dye and were used in Tansy cakes, once widely eaten at Easter.

An easy plant to grow in any situation.
