Wild Foxglove

Digitalis purpurea

A robust plant of woodland margins and wastelands, and one of my personal favourites!

Huge downy leaves form a basal rosette which sends up tall, many-flowered spikes of purplish-pink bells dappled on the insides with black spots.

A firm favourite of the bumblebee.

Flowers from June - September.

Fabulous planted in large clumps.
